Default Location of Sony OEM Amplifier???

Yeah, stupid question. I have a 2014 F-150 FX2 Supercrew with a Sony amplified system that I plan to bypass (see my other posts), but the damn thing is hiding somewhere in my cab.
I think the amplifier is under the center console, but I'm finding it difficult to get good info on it. I need access to the OEM amp to install the T-harness.

****** <Edited> ******* OK, I just found a link to the location of the Amplifier at: https://www.f150forum.com/f30/wiring...ectors-250351/
It looks like the hardest part is removing the shifter linkage to the transmission.

Question: From the below picture, can you get access to the harness connectors by opening the passenger side of the console?

Yes, it is under your center console.
You can get access, but it is very tight. Honestly the shift linkage is hard to remove the first time, but once you figure it out, it is a breeze to remove and reinstall.
The center console does have a lot of stupid bolts though....that is the true hardest part is just removing all of those things.

Thanks Jacob. I'll play around with the passenger side of the center console and see if I can get access to the connectors on the side of the amp. I have my Alpine amp rack nearly ready to drop into the back of my truck.

Make sure you put on the parking brake.
I made the mistake of not applying it and almost peels back my door when I accidentally kicked it into neutral. Rolled right out of the garage and the door came within inches of my other car.

With the Sony system do you have the subwoofer in the rear passenger seat area? Will that subwoofer be bypassed with this mod?

Yes, there is the sub. I'm not sure which mod you mean. I think TechUser is bypassing everything, so yes. But, you could be doing all sorts of mods.

Yes, Gray Rider, I completely removed the little 10 inch Sony subwoofer. I've installed an under-seat dual 12 inch subwoofer box - lifted the rear seat 2 inches to make room. The PAC AmpPRO allows me to bypass the entire Sony system.

On another thought, however I'm finding it difficult to mount the 3.5 foot amplifier rack against the rear cab wall AND be able to lift the back seat-bottoms up. I CAN still pull the back of the seat downwards to see/install/adjust the amp rack. I've come so far along in the wiring that I'm going to continue the project, and accept the fact that the rear seats will not be able to fold up all the way. There's a subwoofer box under that seat, so there's no point in lifting the seat anyways - oh crap I forgot about the jack...

Go-C: Thanks for the reminder. I will block my wheels, and pull the console on level ground.

Thanks for the info, I would like to get rid of the Sony subwoofer completely and have the space under the seat back. It does appear your new system is going to be a killer system!

I hope so. Regarding your system, do you have room behind the rear seat to mount a compact sub box with a similar speaker. I know what your saying, that space under the rear seat comes in handy sometimes.

I did do the rear set mod and have a little more room behind the seat but have not found a good fitting speaker to go there.
