Default In for a little work today

Well after a year and a half of flawless service my truck is in for it's first bit of warranty work. These items include:

1. Noisy suspension, creaks and moans over bumps when driving slowly, sometimes you can even hear a noise when getting in and out of the truck.

2. There is a little front end pop when the truck takes a corner, more so a low speeds, it's subtle but you can feel it through the floor, happens as soon as the wheels are turned and again when they return to center.

3. My brakes are starting to sound as though at least one rotor needs to be turned. I can hear the moaning sound at low speeds with the brakes applied (once they are warmed up). The timing of the sound matches the rotation of the wheel, there is no brake pedal pulsation to speak of yet.

These issues are small at the moment and you almost wouldn't recognize them unless you were looking for them. But I figured I might as well get them addressed while the truck is under warranty and before they get any worse.

My gf and I recently moved to a new town so I am trying out the local dealer for the work, so far they have been very helpful, we'll see how it turns out.

Still loving my truck

Number 2 sounds like the EPAS. Huge sticky on it. Believe its the lower steering shaft? Most people have to get a whole new rack and seems to be about a 50/50 chance of getting a rack that does that. But being under warranty no worries for you. Mine does the same thing and I'm just waiting for my EPAS to fail and have to drop atleast $2k to fix it (out of warranty).

Even with all the problems I'd take a Ford over any other truck.

Yeah, I'm aware that the EPAS and the noisey suspension are known issues with this gen. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the dealer will have seen enough of them at this point to fix the problems properly.

Even though this wasn't an active thread I'll give some closing comments.

Truck was diagnosed as having leaking rear shocks and the front rotors were starting to go. Initially the dealership said they were just going to machine the rotors and replace the rear shocks, all under warranty.

I went to pick the truck up today and they had put new rear shocks on and BRAND NEW rotors on the front. I was pleasantly surprised.
I'm sure there is a cost benefit to them to replace as much as possible when dealing with warranty items.
They couldn't duplicate the front end pop but assured me they went over the front end thoroughly and everything seemed good, I'll admit on the drive home the truck didn't pop once.

All in all I'm very pleased with the service I received, this was the first time I have tried this dealer and they didn't disappoint. Even gave me a coupon for a free car wash at the car detailing place next door. Truck rides and brakes like it was it was brand new again, I will be keeping an eye out for any more fishy behavior from the front end. The truck has 36,000km on it now.

Glad to hear that your problems got taken care of. Good dealerships are getting hard to find.
