Just had LineX installed. Researched the installers and found one that had never had a blast and respray. When I was talking to the installer he said its all about prepping the bed before spraying. I stayed while they did the install it took approximately four hours prep before an hour and a half to spray in the liner.

That's interesting. My post above was directly from my receipt and warranty certificate. On that certificate, the LINE-X dealer filled in the info for the Authorized Dealer that did the spray, my name and other info, as well as the VIN and vehicle info. So yes, it is registered with the VIN, as well as with the original purchaser's information. Did you not get a warranty certificate? I much prefer something in writing over what someone at a shop says, especially with a warranty.
See the link below for what my warranty certificate looks like. Based on what my warranty certificate says, in writing, the warranty is NOT transferable. That's not to say that some dealers would not cover repairs to a liner they sprayed. Some may, but I'd find it especially difficult to believe one dealer would fix a liner sprayed at another dealer without the warranty meeting all the criteria (ex: original purchaser) listed on the warranty terms.

Apparently the shop that did mine originally, did zero prep work, the old liner just pealed right off, the paint underneath looked brand new (zero prep work). The shop that redid it told me that it's a Line-X so it's always covered under their warranty.

For those who have had warrant work done, were you the original purchaser of the liner? That is the issue with the OP, as he is not the original purchaser. That seems to indicate that the liner is no longer under warranty since he's not the original purchaser. Hopefully though, they'll still cover it. It would be nice if ALL of their liners were covered regardless of purchaser. I'm really interested to see how this turns out.

Just a quick update.
The way the warranty listed on the website reads to me the warranty is not transferable, I am hoping though with a bed liner less than two years old the company will step up and cover it. After reading what you guys were saying about the prep I looked at my bed and where the chips are the paint looks brand new not roughed up at all.
I contacted LineX through their online form and got an email back pretty quickly from the local installer telling me I'd have to contact corporate since I was not original owner. I emailed him back and asked if he could at least run my vin and see if it was done there, I haven't heard back yet. I will contact corporate Monday and let you guys know what happens. I'm sure it won't be bad if I have to pay to get it fixed, but for me right now its just the principle of the thing, if they say its warrantied for life and it breaks within 2 years I think they should stand by their product even if the truck was sold.

I was loading some steel beams into my last 150 and accidentely tore 3 small holes in the 2 year old Line-X. I pulled into the nearest Line-X dealer and he dropped what he was doing and fixed the holes in about 2 minutes. He just had some of the product in a large syringe, applied it in the holes and it was dry very fast.
It was a different dealer from where it was done originally, there was no charge and I wasn't even asked for my name.
Excellent service and one of the reasons I had Line-X installed on my new truck.

Go to the nearest Line X dealer, show them the chips, do not mention if you are the original owner, and I bet they fix it anyway.
Warranties aren't transferable on many things, but in most cases it is too much of a pain for someone to verify, so most businesses will step up and repair/replace unless they are known for being hard asses.
