It's not illegal to pay in cash.

Ok so if you stole a truck and sold it to me for $100 CASH, that's illegal for receiving stolen property. So, a guy is telling me I can get a line-x on my truck at the dealership for $250.00. That's not the same as my first situation? I'm just curious. I want a line-x but it seems like its a stolen good/service?

In MD I was quoted $425. That's with a discount for where I work, and it's the regular Line X. No upgrade.
IMHO I think that's too expensive.

I'm getting mine done tomorrow in Harker heights Texas. I'm in Temple so I called around all the shops in Dallas and Austin area and they all were within $20-$30 of each other so I just went with harker heights because it's right down the road (outside kileen). My f150 is an ingot silver platinum too and I've been mulling over it to the point of anxiety to go with black xtra or to go color matched xtra. Either way it will be uv protected. I've got the black plastic on the tailgate too for the man step and the black rails and that's what's been making my decision so tough. If I didn't have the black back there at all I'd most def get color matched.
Harker heights quoted me $440 plus $100 for xtra or $140 for color matched and $50 for custom logo... That's another thing I now have 12 hrs to decide, ford logo on bulkhead of bed or maybe black inside with ingot silver "PLATINUM 4X4" across the bulk head in fonts used on the emblems/stickers.... Hell maybe I'll get "EGOBOOST" written across the damn thing lol!
Either way I've found all pricing to be about the same, save for a guy in round rock quoted me the highest price by $30 and he doesn't do xtra or color match or logos!
Anyway I got my GF a new nikon J1 camera for Xmas that takes great pictures. Whatever I lose sleep over tonight trying to decide what I'm goi g to do I'll post some pics sometime this weekend.
If y'all have any suggestions to help me out on the decision chime in! Don't mean to hijack but maybe it'll help us all out when I post some pics

I have a 2010 Lariat Ingot Silver and did the standard black Line-x. I went through the dealer just to have everything wrapped up in the purchase agreement but the cost was still around normal (I think it was $430 for the Line-x). I also have a tonneau cover so I didn't go for the premium as I'm not worried about fading.
As to the color, I think black looks great with the silver. Sorry I don't have any pictures I can post.
One last thing, when you pick it up make sure to check your camera as they forgot to hook mine back up when they did the spray. They have to remove the tailgate to do it right.

Thanks for the tip on the camera 10-Ford as I would not have thought or known about that at all. I think I am going to go with the black and have it done tommorrow. Buellracer I checked into having the Ford logo put on mine through the Fort Worth Line X location and they told me that was one of the only logos they can't do because of some issue with Ford. Is that Line X location offering the ability to put the logos you mentioned on yours? I would love to have the Platinum 4X4 put on mine.

Yeah I've heard of ford getting mad about their logo, crazy thing to get pissed about but whatever. I don't think they will, thinking about that but I'll see if they'll do my PLATInUm 4x4 idea and post back

Can you tell by looking at a new line-x if they applied the premium or UVB protection? I just don't want to pay for it if they aren't going to do it.

Line-x of Tulsa told me $450 for regular, $600 for premium. Add another $300 for color. Way too high. I had a guy apply Gatorhyde for $350. Looks great.

Oh, went with black on tri-coat truck.
