Hey everyone. I wanna level the front end of my 09 FX4. Any of you do the install yourself? If so how hard was it to do?

 

It's not terribly difficult if you have the tools and a little patience, but make sure you get an alignment right after. A lot of guys (including myself) just shelled out and had the dealer install it because then they aren't nearly as miserable with warranty

Easy. Me and a buddy did it in the drive way. Only took a 6 pack and about 3 hours working slow. Basically all you need is jack and jack stands and basic shop tools. Make sure you have deep sockets or else you'll be making a trip to get some.

 

Awesome. Thanks guys! How much did the dealer charge just out of curiosity? And do you notice any difference with how the truck rides? Like stiffer ride?

 

I got out after a couple hundred and an alignment and peace of mind that they were willing to warranty everything because I had them do the install.
Definitely a difference in the ride without a doubt. Whether you use the strut spacer or shock, it will feel different.
