If U won't check UR front for binding then only smarts will help U. Maybe ? If there is a resistance in the operation it can lead to very poor power steering performance and life. Maybe the rod ends are at a severe angle in much of the articulation. The mounting bolts may be bent. Mine actually steered easier after lifting and returns to center much better. That may be a Coincidence ? I do know for sure that it doesn't rub going into driveway dips anymore.

I don't believe I feel or see any sort of binding. Also, I have noticed that it seems to come and go now..... It's confusing me a bit. I will say however.... last week when I posted, It was down into the 20-30's over night and cold during the day. This weekend was on the "warmer" side again in the 50-60's...... ???? Cold maybe messing with the pump????? I don't know what to think at this point. It started to feel like it was going again. I would have serious trouble turning the wheel when inching forward or parallel parking. Today was okay again.

Good steering PSI should pull the motor down good at idle. High 20's shouldn't affect the power steering fluid, not much oil there and it recirculates quickly. A bad ball joint, look for rust in it or a defunk rack and pinion causes havoc even with good PSI.

So it was cold again this morning and the symptoms are back..... a little whining from the steering like the older fords would do a lot. Something doesn't feel right with the steering at all..... feels loose.... like something is wrong. I guess I will take it in. I am no front end expert to say the least.

Keep us posted on how things go at the dealership, onefastang50. I'm always just a few mouse clicks away if you need me to step in and assist.

How did you get this resolved. I am having very similar symptoms. I had a 2 in HBS spacer put in 15 months ago. Now this past November power steering goes to hell. Had to have the pump replaced and it worked good for about 2 and a half months and now its back to crap again. What was the endgame with yours? Please help!!!

Thanks, Dalyan

Actually, I'm not having any issues at all..... I've done nothing to resolve the issue. It was kind of coming and going for a couple weeks, then nothing. I cant explain it in any other way. Kind of odd I know....

I have a 13 F150 and plan on leveling the truck. Have an 06 F150 with 2.5 on the front with 150000 and not one issue. I'm calling BS on them not covering. My 06 I think is a lot more solid truck and now my son has it and will keep packing on the miles. If these new fords are so touchy they should have built them a stronger.

Lucky you, glad its gone. Unfortunately mines becoming less and less intermittent and isn't going away I'm afraid. Time to find a mechanic that isn't going to bend me over a barrel or just figure out what wrong with it myself, which is pretty unlikely.

Thanks again, Dalyan
