Excellent point. I have the Bilstein 5100s and set them to 1.5 inches, and I too have about a 1/2" rake. ***Go with 2"***.
But having the Bilsteins for over a year now, I *WILL* be changing them out soon. I'm tired of driving a truck that drives like a motorhome.
I've decided to go with the BOSS coilovers. Why, in light of Icons, King, Fox? One word: "digressive". BOSS utilizes the digressive valving (opposite of 'progressive'). Check out YouTube videos/et al about digressive shock valving. You'll be a convert too.
As far as tire size, I went with LT275/70R18. This increased the diameter from the OEM 32.1" (629 revs per mile) to 33.2" (608 revs per mile) and it actually made the odometer more accurate than stock. Given the opportunity again, I would go with the 285/65R18, at 32.6" diameter (619 revs per mile). A 285/60R18 is too short (31.5" diameter w/ 641 revs per mile).
for your own research, Google "powerdog tire size calculator".

Is it to keep it up in the stroke and not collapse under any load? That makes a bit of sense but wouldn't it make it ride like a lumber wagon?
I was told by AS that 1.5 inches would come close to netting 2 for Screw 4X4. (I think it is within 1/4 inch front to back -Another angle, tough I know....but you get the idea).
