lets see all of those lowered 09-13 RCSB (regular cab short box)
wanting to start a thread for the all the lowered regular cabs from 09 to present, lets see what everyones got, i am a huge fan of these new regular cab trucks post all your pics of these beautiful trucks
|
I am with you man. These new RCSB trucks can't be beat looks-wise with a nice drop on them. Unfortunately the only person on here (that I know of) that actually has a rcsb, let alone lowered, is jbhill. Beauty of a truck. It's on the last page of this thread vvv
https://www.f150forum.com/f66/lets-s...5833/index104/ There's one other guy that lowered one on here, but he hasn't posted in ages. Hopefully more people chime in!!! |
there are a few others in here with lowered RCSB's they are jst all scattered around and would like to get them all in one thread, i think it would be really cool, mine wont be done untill this next spring

Damn hi rev looks like we know what you like haha
|
there a few out there thats for sure, and i know there are a ton more out there that we have yet to see
|
yea mine will be apart of this thread next spring, jst waiting till the spring to go to the track one more time before i start throwing my parts on it like the motor stuff, and the drop i have already put in my HD head and tail lights, i already got my boss 302 intake and cold air intake, drop kit, and wheels, working on getting some long tube headers and drag radials all for next spring
|
Any others out there
|
not yet.
I too am hoping to do something come spring. I have shackles sitting in the basement, but I think instead of piece mealing my drop, I am just gonna buy a complete kit. |
You can get a great deal from thesuspensionsource.com or djm/beltechdirect from here on the forum, a beltech 3/5 complete kit for under 600 bucks shipped part number for our trucks is beltechs 971SP, that's lowering struts/rear flip with rear shocks, and if you want to get a a 4/6 ppl in Texas are mixing the djm 3 inch drop control arms and setting the belttech drop struts to a one inch drop to achieve the four inches and they have said they align Jst fine like that,
|
here are some more pics of single cabs provided by Boss5.0

02REAPER: what drop are you running? your truck is identical to mine except for yours being an XLT with the chrome whereas mine is an STX with body color.

ok so how many of you RCSB guys who have done the drop are experiencing driveline angle vibes? have you done anything to correct it?
I have noticed when I put a good chunk of weight in the bed and the driveline angle changes (essentially the same as it being lowered) I will get some pretty noticable shudders and vibes. this is what worries me about lowering my truck. I haul significant amounts of weight (over 1000lbs) in the bed about once a month, so being able to use my truck AS A TRUCK is an absolute must. so obviously doing an airbag helper setup is going to be in the cards as well. but I dont want to do all this only to find my truck has just become as worthless for hauling as the mustang I traded in on it. |
I think with a djm rear kit will be better for you and the slam air helper bags and maybe a notch so u don't bottom out with that much wieght, if you do a mild drop like a 2/4 u shouldnt have to much of a problem
|
thanks.
why cant I just leave things alone? lol. |
I ask myself the same thing everyday
|
Check your bump stops,i took mine off. Also they make a shim to correct the pinion angle,I put it in my truck and almost no vibration at all.the thick
Side goes towards the rear bumper.Very easy fix! |
Dam those are sick!

Damn that'll be an awesome setup when (if?) it gets finished! Haha. Are you the owner of the chev? And you should tell the owner of the blue one to show off her truck more often! I'd love to see that thing in person. |

Is there any benefit to lowering a truck other than the aesthetic preference ? I would think the ride would be too hard
|
has anyone done a 4 6?
|
Damn looking at all these dropped RCSB makes me wanna drop my truck.

many people see a slight gain in mpg when their vehicle is lowered because it forces the air over and around the smooth panels of the body of the truck, instead of UNDER it where there are a lot turbulent areas. unfortunately, most of us who lower our trucks do not see the mpg gain because we also add wider tires mounted on larger heavier wheels. so the gain is offset by the higher rolling resistance of wider stickier tires and trying to get those heavier wheels turning from a stop. dropping a truck while keeping a tall skinny wheel/tire combo (as long as it still fits with the lower stance) can absolutely see a mpg benefit. |

better handling, ease of entry, easier to get stuff in and out of the bed, for me a big benefit will be making it easier to reach my oil dipstick :censored: many people see a slight gain in mpg when their vehicle is lowered because it forces the air over and around the smooth panels of the body of the truck, instead of UNDER it where there are a lot turbulent areas. unfortunately, most of us who lower our trucks do not see the mpg gain because we also add wider tires mounted on larger heavier wheels. so the gain is offset by the higher rolling resistance of wider stickier tires and trying to get those heavier wheels turning from a stop. dropping a truck while keeping a tall skinny wheel/tire combo (as long as it still fits with the lower stance) can absolutely see a mpg benefit. |
IMHO Why buy a truck if it sits on pavement like a princess? Goodluck driving a lowered truck in winter or loading it up to go to the lake or going hunting
