lets see all of those lowered 09-13 RCSB (regular cab short box)

wanting to start a thread for the all the lowered regular cabs from 09 to present, lets see what everyones got, i am a huge fan of these new regular cab trucks post all your pics of these beautiful trucks

clpeller 12-09-2012 11:26 PM

I am with you man. These new RCSB trucks can't be beat looks-wise with a nice drop on them. Unfortunately the only person on here (that I know of) that actually has a rcsb, let alone lowered, is jbhill. Beauty of a truck. It's on the last page of this thread vvv

https://www.f150forum.com/f66/lets-s...5833/index104/

There's one other guy that lowered one on here, but he hasn't posted in ages. Hopefully more people chime in!!!

hi-rev 12-10-2012 01:17 AM

there are a few others in here with lowered RCSB's they are jst all scattered around and would like to get them all in one thread, i think it would be really cool, mine wont be done untill this next spring

hi-rev 12-11-2012 12:36 AM

yea mine will be apart of this thread next spring, jst waiting till the spring to go to the track one more time before i start throwing my parts on it like the motor stuff, and the drop i have already put in my HD head and tail lights, i already got my boss 302 intake and cold air intake, drop kit, and wheels, working on getting some long tube headers and drag radials all for next spring

hi-rev 12-29-2012 12:11 AM

Any others out there

MPETE 12-29-2012 12:19 AM

not yet.
I too am hoping to do something come spring. I have shackles sitting in the basement, but I think instead of piece mealing my drop, I am just gonna buy a complete kit.

hi-rev 12-29-2012 02:00 AM

You can get a great deal from thesuspensionsource.com or djm/beltechdirect from here on the forum, a beltech 3/5 complete kit for under 600 bucks shipped part number for our trucks is beltechs 971SP, that's lowering struts/rear flip with rear shocks, and if you want to get a a 4/6 ppl in Texas are mixing the djm 3 inch drop control arms and setting the belttech drop struts to a one inch drop to achieve the four inches and they have said they align Jst fine like that,

It's dropped a little more now than when I took that pic....its 3" in the front and 4.5" in the rear I believe. Belltech lowering struts on the front with no spacers and groundforce rear leafs with 1" drop shackle in the rear. Will post up pics later.

MPETE 12-29-2012 11:31 AM

ok so how many of you RCSB guys who have done the drop are experiencing driveline angle vibes? have you done anything to correct it?

I have noticed when I put a good chunk of weight in the bed and the driveline angle changes (essentially the same as it being lowered) I will get some pretty noticable shudders and vibes. this is what worries me about lowering my truck. I haul significant amounts of weight (over 1000lbs) in the bed about once a month, so being able to use my truck AS A TRUCK is an absolute must. so obviously doing an airbag helper setup is going to be in the cards as well. but I dont want to do all this only to find my truck has just become as worthless for hauling as the mustang I traded in on it.

hi-rev 12-29-2012 12:32 PM

I think with a djm rear kit will be better for you and the slam air helper bags and maybe a notch so u don't bottom out with that much wieght, if you do a mild drop like a 2/4 u shouldnt have to much of a problem

MPETE 12-29-2012 11:37 PM

thanks.
why cant I just leave things alone? lol.

hi-rev 12-30-2012 12:50 AM

I ask myself the same thing everyday

Boss5.0 12-30-2012 05:50 AM

Check your bump stops,i took mine off. Also they make a shim to correct the pinion angle,I put it in my truck and almost no vibration at all.the thick
Side goes towards the rear bumper.Very easy fix!

I think they are like 369.00...Yes they make them for flip kits, but not sure about the helper bag kit. Call them and talk to them, they are very helpful and will build custom stuff too.

Damn that'll be an awesome setup when (if?) it gets finished! Haha. Are you the owner of the chev? And you should tell the owner of the blue one to show off her truck more often! I'd love to see that thing in person.

Is there any benefit to lowering a truck other than the aesthetic preference ? I would think the ride would be too hard

Keg's5.ohh 01-07-2013 10:03 PM

better handling, ease of entry, easier to get stuff in and out of the bed, for me a big benefit will be making it easier to reach my oil dipstick :censored:
many people see a slight gain in mpg when their vehicle is lowered because it forces the air over and around the smooth panels of the body of the truck, instead of UNDER it where there are a lot turbulent areas. unfortunately, most of us who lower our trucks do not see the mpg gain because we also add wider tires mounted on larger heavier wheels. so the gain is offset by the higher rolling resistance of wider stickier tires and trying to get those heavier wheels turning from a stop.

dropping a truck while keeping a tall skinny wheel/tire combo (as long as it still fits with the lower stance) can absolutely see a mpg benefit.

Thanks for the input .. To each is his own I suppose I might like the lowered idea better but I don't do any urban driving and the snow where I live is not too friendly to a lowered truck.. I guess it is a unique look for these trucks though!

Then your opinion doesn't belong here. This is a thread so those of us that like lowered trucks can enjoy seeing what each other has done to their trucks. It is not a thread where you are to come to bash things you don't like. Now it's time for you to rejoin your jackass anonymous meeting.

Man you really have to appreciate what really anyone does to their car. Be it a lame civic or a lambo, people love their cars. They put blood sweat and tears into what they love- their car. They do to their car what makes them happy and what they think looks good. No matter if you love it or hate it, appreciate that everyone has different preferences. Even though I am not a huge fan of lowered trucks, I love how clean these trucks look, simply because their owners put pride and joy into making it to their perfection. You definitely can't be close minded in the car industry.

EDIT: My bad bobkyle I read the quoted comment before your post lol

I do!!!! But its not the fact of the truck being that low its that horrible crossmember that sits like 4inches lower than the frame
