Default Lemon Law

Anyone here ever had to file for the lemon law?

I retained an Attorney and now the Ford Rep and the dealer is saying that my truck is not going to be covered under warranty most likely because I got an Attorney. Ive taken it in 5 times now. they have replaced both springs and struts, 2 rack and pinions and this last time the assistant service manager from a different dealer (per the rep) left a great voice mail saying the tech that is working on your truck says that the alignment has fixed 90% of the problem and will most likely replace the ball joints. he then called me back a few minutes later saying the service manager road tested your truck and it fixed the problem no ball joints replaced and come get it. guess what it didn't fix it. Now here I sit with aa truck that has a mind of it's own. How long does the lemon law take?

If somebody said that to me, I'd shove the State Attorney General up their _ss, file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, while asking with a pleasant smile if I could have what they just stated in writing, as I hit my attorney on the speed dialer to file an additional charge of harassment. Bring a recorder to every bit of contact with them from this point forward and tell them up front that you are recording.

I'd no longer even care about the truck because they would have become my entertainment.

I was floored by what the service manager said. I was so mad all I could do was leave before my mouth and or foot got me in trouble. I called my attorney and uploaded the voice mail to him. waiting for a call back as we speak. Oh and the ford rep said my truck wasn't keeping the alignment due to the roads I drive on.......lol It's all freeway driving. I have yet to take it off road. I told the rep that and said it's a 4X4 and if can't drive them on the freeway, why do you even make them? She said Ford did me a favor by not charging me this time. Every service manager and the techs that have driven it has duplicated the problem. I just don't get it. The service adviser even said Ive done everything to get this fixed and this should not be happening.

No need to get upset or an attorney. I filed for the lemon law against GM in 1997. I contacted my state BBB and started the process. GM Detroit contacted me within 1-2 days asking if they could have another chance to repair the problem. I told them that their poor performing dealer had not fixed it in the last 8 times and I was done. I wanted a new truck. I chose a new dealer about 20 miles away and they worked to find me a new truck. I paid for a few upgrades that were on the new truck and the rest was a wash.

The whole process after I contact the BBB was less than 2 weeks. You will get FORDs attention when the BBB initiates the process. To hell with the dealer attention at that point.

I hope you have kept receipt of each and every visit to the dealer that notes the exact same issue. If the have the documentation in your file, the rest is history.

Good luck.

If you have an attorney on this, why are you asking how the lemon law works on this forum?

Unless of course, you conversely ask your attorney about what is the best oil. Then it would seem ok.

Filing a complaint with BBB is nothing. The BBB is supported by business. Unless they are a member and care about their standing they can't do squat. One tactic the BBB uses to get business to join their scam is to say they received a complaint about your business, would you like to join and respond. If you are not a member the BBB can't say any more about you than your not a member. People act like they have some legal power they have no more power than any other advertising agency. If you have retained an attorney let him sort it out, that's what you pay him for. If the dealer is really a scum bag there should be complaints about him at your local DA's office.

I'm sorry to here about your truck. I had something similar happen back in 88 with my first new truck. I ended up with a rebuilt engine a, beat to **** truck when all was done. If it wasn't for the local DA getting involved, I may well still be waiting on my truck. In California the Lemon law is so hard to evoke it may as well not exist. Hope you get your new Truck.

Simply trying to get others experiance when dealing with ford after the fact. And to let others here who have the same problem that its not normal. And yes their are others with the same issue. Bottom line is the truck is not right and regadless if i got an attorney ford should still be trying to fix it. Period.

For all you know, your truck fell off of the truck hauling it and the witnesses are all hush, hush about it.

Isn't it nice how everybody acts like they are the ones doing you a favor?

They've had an opportunity and the problem persists so take legal action.

The BBB has nothing but thanks to the internet, they help tarnish reputations and unlike shady contractors, Ford and its dealers are unlikely to begin doing business under a new name. Moreover, the attorney that is retained will use the lack of response to the BBB to develop the case as needed.

No matter what, money can fix anything.
