Thanks Kozal01,
So, am I correct thinking there's a hard/rigged plastic trim piece at the bottom of the 100XL rear window that overlaps the outside of the tailgate? ...that keeps water/snow completely away from the top to the tailgate? |

Another option

I have the Century Ultra Sport on my 2010 crew and I have experienced no leaks. And I live in the Oregon valley and we get tons of rain, and I keep lots of "stuff" in the back. It has one central handle/lock, heavy duty screens on the side sliding windows, and a drop out front slider. It makes it much easier to clean the back of the truck window. Just another option if you wish to check it out. Happy hunting.

Yeah the slam latch and drop out front window is a must for me. I priced out century since they are owned by LEER but they wanted nearly $300 more for the Century with the same options for some reason. Nice toppers though.

I have an ARE Z Series and couldn't be happier. NO leaks at all, fit and finish is great, but, you pay for it. I plan on keeping my truck for over 10 years, and having 2 kids this is the family vacation truckster, so a cap is essential for me.
My only complaint was the pathetic 12v light they put in for $100, really screwed me over there. If you are handy with wiring at all, do NOT get that light. I'll post pics of my solution to the bed lighting below. Oh, one thing, since you have a metallic paint, be prepared to give them your gas door to send off so the factory can match the paint. canopy lights
Bucketman, love the lights, can you post some details on which product and how you installed?
I just got an ARE CX on my 2012 XL 6.5', perfect color match and really like the drop front window. $1200 installed. Hasn't rained yet, so cannot speak to watertightness, but it looks very nice on my truck. |
I like your cap Bucket Man. The seamless windows match the look I'm looking for.
But...do you think your windows cranked open would be enough ventilation for hauling a dog or should I go with the sliding windows. I just don't like that look as much. |
I'm going to add a bedslide when I have an ARE installed on my 2013. Anyone use a bedslide?

I live just north of the North Hills. Thanks for the advice. Sounds like all caps get hot but trying to weight all the options.
