LED tailgate light bar issue.
Hey guys,
I just installed an LED tailgate light bar on my 2010 Lariat. Hard wired the backup light, but I am using the 4 pin trailer plug for the rest. The light bar should have backup, turn, brake and running lights. My problem is everything works except the running lights. I bought a tester and it shows nothing with just the lights on either. Brakes and turn signals are fine. Only had this truck 4 months and haven't towed with it yet. Is it possible I have a faulty Harness? Thanks for any input.

Never seen a tail gate light bar with back up lights, the one I have is running lights and turn signal and brake lights. Perhaps you have something different? Or maybe you connected the running light portion to the back up light circuit?

I had the same problem on my ranger, I switched all the wiring (it was fine but I just wanted to be safe. I called recon cause my running lights worked and reverse worked but no turn signals and they sent me a brand new one no charge
Per the instructions that came with the light.
Each tailgate light bar is wired with a standard flat 4 pin trailer connection harness:
a. Pin 1 - White Wire ---------Ground
b. Pin 2 - Brown Wire---------Running Lamp
c. Pin 3 - Yellow Wire---------Left Turn Signal & Brake Light
d. Pin 4 - Green Wire----------Right Turn Signal & Brake Light
ADDITIONAL STEP REQUIRED FOR THE RED & WHITE LED TAILGATE LIGHT BAR ONLY:
You must connect the additional white wire to your existing reverse light power wire. Use a wire connector to connect the white wire to the vehicle and then use electrical tape to seal the connection. You may also solder and heat shrink the connection. Refer to your vehicle’s service manual for a wire schematic for correct wire placement.
Everything works but the running light. Backup light is white all the others red. I think I will try running a jumper from my taillights to the running light wire. This will tell me if it's the light bar or my trailer connector.
