Default LED Reverse Lights

Has anyone out there found a lightbar that will fit under the tailgate? I'm not talking about those light strips that hookup to the brake lights. I'm looking for something like a single row led lightbar.

I've seen the flush mounts like Rigid's...

But I can't bring myself to cutting holes into my bumper.

I've also thought about mounting my Rigid duallys below the bumper, but I feel like the lights will just get ripped off or end up damaging the bumper in mud.

Similar to these lights

Does anybody have any experience with these mounting styles/have any ideas?

I've never seen anything that will fit under the tailgate. I dont think there is enough room to get a large enough light in there.

I dont like the look of the hanging down lights. They look cheesy and I'd rip them off. The flush mounted lights in the bumper is the way to go.

I have two rectangular LED lights w/ 4 bulbs in each and they are mounted to the rear leaf spring mount under the truck. You can't see them from behind the truck unless the lights themselves are on. They light up everything pretty well at night.

I just finished installing the flush mounted knock off ridged lights in my bumper. While it was nerve racking to cut into the truck, the results are fantastic and I would recommend it.

My fear, like yours was that the hanging lights would get knocked off when I went off the beaten path or got into deep snow. If your truck is a street only truck, then I think the ones you have pictured would be fine though.

Good luck,

Closest thing I've found are like the brake bars that also shine white light. Not nearly as bright as what you're probably looking for, but a step in that direction.

These work pretty well for me:

Amazon.com: Kawell K5-5118 8W 6.2-Inch. DC 9-32V 6500K 1170LM 90 Degree Waterproof LED for ATV, Jeep, Boat, Suv, Truck, Car, Atvs, Flood Light Bar - Black: Automotive Amazon.com: Kawell K5-5118 8W 6.2-Inch. DC 9-32V 6500K 1170LM 90 Degree Waterproof LED for ATV, Jeep, Boat, Suv, Truck, Car, Atvs, Flood Light Bar - Black: Automotive

they fit well in the natural curve of the bumper..there are pictures on that link in the reviews.

Is there any drilling required for this or does it use existing holes? I was going to use the existing holes in the bumper, but I'd feel better if they were a tiny bit more hidden rather than just in plain sight. Don't really trust people in the city!

Check out f150leds.com

I got some reverse lights from them and I'm extremely pleased. Makes backing up with all windows tinted at 15 at night a breeze.
