Ouch!! I was afraid I as going to do the same thing! I ended up putting the reflectors in a vise so my hand were clear! A dremel would have been the best way to go about it though...

Just finished with this mod. It took longer than I thought but I was able to use 9 LED per side and also got them hot glued to the reflector. The biggest issue I had was there was almost no extra wire in the mirror, It feel like I made a mess of getting the wires soldered together. I highly recommend the use of a Dremel on the reflectors, sooo much easier than using an Exacto knife.

I hope this is okay as I think I can now post in the classifieds but I have two 9 LED strips that are from the back half of my strips, I also have the extra wire that I cut from what I used. It says you can strip away the silicone and solder the wires onto it and then tape it up to seal it. I dont really need much for them but would be happy to ship them if somebody has the talent to do the work and wants to do this even cheaper.

Hit me up and I will get them off to you. They are the white LED BTW.
