I've never heard of a PROJECTOR Halogen housing.
And honestly, I don't care if these lights are DOT "compliant" or not. What I care about is giving better light, WITHOUT (key word here) offending on coming traffic. That was my main concern in the beginning. These LED bulb replacements from lifetime LEDS delivered exactly the results that I wanted.
I will also say that my sons previous truck, a 2006 F150, had a PnP hid bulb kit (which only cost $60) stated it was DOT compliant and pissed off numerous drivers and got flashed on a regular basis because of the horrible glare that it produced.
All I know is: these particular brand (lifetime Led) of LED bulbs (can't vouch for other brands) was well worth the price & delivered the exact results that I (& my son) was looking for and gives a much better, brighter and a clearer light and he has yet get high beamed, and it's been a couple months now.
My concerns and questions I had in the beginning has been answered, and proven with great results.
DOT compliant or not?...All I know is these work.

LED headlights
Many mid level vehicles have halogen projector lights and many aftermarket projector housings can use both. I recall the Acura Integra, our 2010 impreza, and my sister in laws 2014 Explorer has them....so it's a thing

Hey all - wondering if someone could enlighten me (pardon the pun). There are a number of LED kits on eBay that sell for half the price of this kit and I'm not sure what the difference is? Generally speaking, you get what you pay for but at the end of the day, they're just LED lights so what am I missing? As an example, here is a kit from eBay that looks similar to the Lifetime LED kit. They are likely made across the street from the Chinese supplier Lifetime LED uses.

This looks like a great mod and I always like to support forum vendors but trying to educate myself first. Appreciate the input as always!

We either have: halogen... Or HID projector headlights.
If I'm wrong, someone correct me.
That's comparing apples to oranges if one is trying to compare our F150's to a completely different vehicle.
I totally agree that these LED bulbs will have a completely different result in another vehicle.
I'm just saying that these LED bulbs (from lifetime LED) works fantastic in my sons truck, has no adverse affect, never been high beamed, and gives better light than the stock bulbs.
Plus, if anything happens... They have a lifetime warranty.
Money well spent & results are great!

i would actually get flashed quite often at night with my stock halogens, i havent had one problem yet
with these leds and just sitting in my lil work car looking 40 ft to the truck. Its much easier on the eyes. So from my experience its actually BETTER than the factory lights for oncoming traffic.
