Default LED Confusion

So as I continue to update and customize my truck I'm now to new bulbs. When it comes to LEDs I'm seeing so much info I'm unsure what is accurate ( need resistors, need to change programming, need heavier gauge wire).

I want to use LED marker and turn signals.

I would like plug and play LED low and ultra bright high beams with factory housing.

Don't come to Tennessee, we have enough of our own people running around with the incorrect blinding LEDS in their Halogen light buckets here already.
For the Turn lights and marker lights I used the Sylvania Zevo 4157A front and 4157R in the rear and 168a/194a for the front marker lights and 194r for the license plate lights.
All the Bulb out warning were turned off using ForScan. I have HID Bulbs so I didn't have to worry about those and I have Liteway 4 inch

All the upgrades I've done came from Diode Dynamics, interior and in the taillights. Had a problem with one, they replaced it under warranty after 2.5 years. I also turned off the warning via Forscan.

There are LEDs now being made (Lasfit, others) that claim to work better in standard halogen headlight assemblies, without scattering light into other drivers' eyes. Not sure if I believe it, but that's the claim.

I wouldn't recommend LED headlights - there are certainly better ones now that do not bleed like the earlier ones - i used amazon prime to test them (free returns) and find some that weren't terribly priced and gave a reasonable beam pattern to replace the atrocious stock lighting.
Amazon Amazon

Those worked out ok, but thankfully i came across a deal i couldn't refuse on some factory HID headlights.

As for everything else, you just need Forscan to disable the bulb out options and it'll all work well without any resistors or wiring upgrades etc. I only have filament bulbs in the vanity mirrors now, nothing else.

Madmaxx.. Are you suggesting buying the LED headlights as a complete assembly (housing and bulbs)?

Not against but need a couple more weeks to save $$.

Any you would recommend?

Yes, if you're going to replace the headlights, try not to retro fit stuff, ie. LED bulbs in a halogen housing. Housings running as designed will nearly always work better than anything modified.

Unfortunately, there are essentially a couple of companies making decent aftermarket housings and you're talking about between 800 and 1500 depending on options for them, it's a terrible situation if you ask me.

Wow. I like the looks of the LEDs but not that much.

I'll keep my eye out for some deals, but for that price the factory headlights work just fine. Better for me to invest in the tires and maybe an onboard compressor kit for my rear airbags.

Thanks for the insight
