Default Leather seats

Hey everyone,

I just bought my first Ford. 2010 Platinum Screw fully loaded. I love it! This is also my first time with leather seats.... I am doing everything possible for preventative maintenance to this truck to make it last and look like new for years to come.

Is it possible to condition my leather seats too much? Is 2x a month excessive? I have already conditioned them a couple times and I haven't had any issues with the color bleeding out from it, but i didn't know if i could cause more harm than good. I am a neat freak when it comes to my truck... I am using Maguilla's leather conditioner. (not sure if I spelled it right) If anyone has any suggestions, I would be much obliged.

Thanks guys!

Oh and i forgot 1 thing. I also tinted my front windows to a 15 to match the stock rear & my windshield to 35. So i shouldn't have much of an issue with the sun fading them and it won't be as hot in the truck.

Not sure if you can kill them with kindness..... I usually condition once or twice a month, and have had leather in many vehicles to date. No issues!

I'm new to Ford as well and just got my '10 Platinum last Wednesday...Let's see a pic of your new ride!!

My 06 Freestar has leather seats and privacy glass. It has 80,000 miles and we've almost had it for 5 years and we've never done anything but wipe the seats off when they get dirty. No cracks, tears, etc, they're holding up great.

What type of Leather Conditioner/Treatment are you Guys using on your Seats? I was wondering about this myself and this is my first Truck with Leather Interior.

I cant take any pics right now cuz my d*** camera is jacked up. I sent it back to Sony 2 weeks ago and am still waiting on it. For a mental image, I have the tri-color white model with rhino liner so far. Tomorrow I am having Ziebart spray on their rust protection/sound barrier. No plans yet for additional mods. I need to let my check book cool down before I start looking at tonneau covers.

Lexol has a leather cleaner in an orange bottle and a conditioner in a brown bottle. There's also a vinyl cleaner in a blue bottle. I've used all three products for a number of years and Lexol has been making saddle care products for a long time. I think they are each under $10/bottle and probably one of the best leather care products out there.

Yes, it is possible to overkill those seats with kindness.
Read page 360 of the 2010 Owners Manual version 3.

Only the King Ranch requires leather conditioner. The other F150's have a clear protective coating over the leather.

One word ---> Zymol. I used to use it on my KR seats and it was really good. Once a month is sufficient.
