Default lead frame

For the people that have replaced the leadframe themselves, did yall have to reset the pcm? So it would relearn the shift points, and driving habits?

I do that every so often without replacing anything. If you're unhooking the battery to do this surgery, you're resetting the PCM.

Default Leadframe replace - level of effort?

Hi,
Newbie on this forum... I have a new-to-me 2011 F150 3.5 EcoBoost, 6R80 trans, 83k.
I'm aware of the recall/reprogram related to the leadframe, but not sure if my vehicle has already been "fixed". Checking with former owner/dealer to find that out.
I've changed trans fluid many times on other vehicles, and am planning to do it on this truck soon.
What is involved with swapping out the lead frame when I open it up?
Also, is this dealer only part? I can't find it on RockAuto, and also was reading about part shortages for this, late last year.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Steve

A dealership can tell you using the VIN if the recall was performed. Be it replacement or just updating the software. A few months ago the part was still hard to come by. It should be covered if you're having issues, if not they will only update the software. I recommend buying the part from a reputable source.
