Default Just had to go to the dealership today...

So me in my infinite wisdom decided to stop by the dealership close to my house...next thing I know I'm standing infront of a 2012 FX4 EB Ingot Grey Metallic...fully loaded...MSRP 58k/change. I am talking to the manager whom is the only person I will deal with and he mentions Ford family blah blah...then he offers to bring the price of the truck to 45k even......DAMN IT.
I am waiting to hear back on Friday on what the dealership is prepared to offer me on my trade in, if it works for me I will be pulling the trigger and trading my 2010 FX4.

Now if your still reading I have two questions....
1 - I'm honestly wondering how much I can get for my truck...I asked for 29k and they were very quick at saying it wouldn't happen. I said it does or no deal...hence why they asked to take till Friday. It has 32000kms and is in great shape. I will lose about 5k in the trade but the 13k off makes up for that a little.
2 - Im looking for someone who upgraded from a 09-10 with the 5.4. Is the fuel savings noticeable at all? I drive 50/50 highway/city and gas sucks sometimes.

Any opinions or comments are more than welcome. Let me know if I'm an idiot for doing this or a bigger idiot for not taking a truck that's 13k below sticker.

I also saw a loaded sterling gray fx4 screw with 6.5' bed at a nearby dealership, but it was $38,000 out the door! I wanted it so bad, but thankfully people on here talked me out of making a bad financial decision lol. As for ur question about how much ur gonna get for ur truck: Sadly, I don't think you'll get 29k for it. 2013 trucks are coming soon, so that technically makes ur truck 3 years old. I plan to trade my 2011 xlt in 5 years when it's paid off and I'm not looking forward to seeing how much my truck is worth by then. Can't help u on the second question because I've only had the 5.0, but from what everybody says, the new engines aren't that much better on mpg compared to the 5.4

He's in Canada so that might make a bit of difference in pricing.

If they come to around 26K to 27K for your truck, consider yourself lucky. That new truck is going to be very nice though. We traded off our 2010 XLT 5.4 for a 2012 Lariat Plus EB and love the new truck..........as to mpg....meh -- the EB is just too much fun. You CAN drive the EB to get 2 or 3 mpg better than the 5.4 in the same conditions, but what would be the fun in that?

The 2011 EB and 5.0L motors are much better than the 5.4 was in my opinion. I was debating buying a used 2010 FX4 5.4L or a new 2011 FX4 5.0L, drove both and decided on the new one. I have had it for 8 months now and am nothing but haoppy with it. The 5.0L is amazing, the 2011-12-13 trucks are alot further ahead of the 2010 model... I think it is a good move. Which dealer are you dealing with?

I traded my 10 5.4 for a 12 EB and couldn't be happier I'm getting at least 3 or 4 mpg if I was driving them normal if I get into the EB then about 2mpg on the highway or city. I don't know how things translate to Canadian pricing but I thin I got 27 for my xlt about 2 months ago it was a pretty basic truck w sync and brake controller

45 out the door is not too bad but i think they can take 2 or 3k off of that without an issue.

I traded my 09 5.4 Scab for a 12 5.0 Screw and am getting average 2-3 L/100km better and only have 4k on it so far.

Which dealership are you talking too?

you guys honestly think they could go under 45k? I just stopped at a different dealer and am talking to them now too to see if they are willing to compete for my business. I mean a 13k off the sticker is pretty good isn't it? Who pays full MSRP on these things!?!
