Jump seat VS console

Jump seat VS console
I purchased a new 2012 F 150 XLT yesterday and I am not really liking the jump seat. I have a gray interior with the dark gray trim. Is there anybody out there that has a new truck that would be interested in trading a new console for the jump seat console? It obviously needs to be the console that does not have the shifter in it.

good luck with that trade.
do some looking around and you will find that NO BODY likes the jumpseat and EVERYBODY wants to trade for a console, but for the most part nobody who has a console wants to trade it for a jumpseat.
best bet is to keep an eye on ebay. take-offs pop up on there from time to time, but they are usually VERY pricey. I wanna say they are around $400 generally.
if you have an XL or STX model, you may want to look for an XLT jumpseat. they have storage and cup holders in the armrest. this is what I did on my STX and it is the single most enjoyable change I have made. having a regular cab, I didnt want to give up the potential 3rd seat for those times when an extra seat is NEEDED, but the cup holders on the floor and the under seat storage were akward to access. so the XLT setup became the best option for me.
also do some research, I have read that the 04-08 style console WILL swap in with some minor mods (minor drilling I think) they are likely easier to find than 11-13 console. the down side is, finding one in as good of condition as your new truck

I don't know where you are. There is a seller in Los Angeles that has multiple consoles for multiple years. You can find them on CraigsList. I could get a link later if your interested in looking that way.

http://www.pullapart.com/ choose your location and see if you can locate one from a wreck, that place has the cheapest prices on the planet bar none. No you cannot have my xlt console.

I found a trade right here on the forum. Posted up a thread in the For Sale Threads, and a couple months later, I found one. I had a jump seat and wanted a console. I shipped mine out, waited a week or so, and in came my console. Although I have an 06. I have also seen that older consoles will fit with minor modifications.
