It's almost like Ford dealers hate making money
I want a 2012 truck at 500 less than invoice minus rebates, plus 300 document fees, tax and title. I want to get a quote online and be done with it. Better deals are had here all the time. I don't care. I want my truck this week, and I'm willing to settle for a few different options packages. I won't cry about 50 bucks here or there, I'm OK with them making more than just the holdback on this sale.
I'm THE dream buyer for a salesmen. They won't make a killing on me but they will make about a thousand bucks (or more depending on sales manager incentives) for 2 hours of work max.
The majority of local dealers do not list the window sticker on their website. In 2012. Fine. I call them and email them and request a window sticker, closing my voicemails/emails w/ "I'm ready to buy this week! Please reply."
Worst case scenario this would require less than 5 minutes of work; take legible pic of window sticker on phone, upload, email. Done.
I sent 10 emails, all to dealers w/ internet sales teams. In 48 hours, 4 have been returned. None have sent me a copy of the window sticker. For three dealers, the request is simply too intellectually complicated for them. They have a script of how they want to play a game, and they will not budge from it.
"This is the internet price, here are the options...I'm not sure what you want to see?" Was an actual verbatim reply.
One female dealer said they don't actually do window stickers anymore. lol.
Dealers gonna dealer.

Go to the dealer with the biggest F150 selection (volume dealer). Take your checkbook and tell them you want to buy a truck. Tell them what you want to pay (within reason) and if they don't want to sell you a truck...walk.
I bet you get a truck.

Where are you located? If you are in Texas, try Blue Bonnet motors, ask for Marty. He was good about emailing new all the requested information. They put their as on the website, and already have several available at the advertised price to choose from.

I contacted the sales manager, he emailed me the info on a few different ones, I called to negotiate the price on the one I wanted, we agreed on it and all was well. I don't like buying without looking over something but they treated me well, got a good price and hassle free. I would buy from them again even if it requires me to take a flight again.

I hear you Brother...I was looking at my current truck on line and all signs were it was brand new...got to the lot and it had 3200 miles on it....the parts manager had been driving it...they knocked another $1800 off and I bought it.

[Something Funny Here]
I played the same game for 2 months. Finally gave up on 2012s as I had emailed every one that fit my base options requirements in all on IL and stretching into neighboring states. (If you want a black FX4 and are around here just stop now) I finally hit the point where I realized they have these left as they are not willing to deal. I even did the walk in drop check book on desk and say I will write a check for it RIGHT NOW. That particular one would still not drop their price and they were at like $2k over invoice at that point.
I eventually got a 2013 at basically invoice last weekend. At some point your sanity is worth the extra $500 lol. I guess that is what they are counting on.
