Default iPhone 5 and Sync

I have this issue where if I get a txt message and i'm listening to the radio the phone won't alert me of the new message. and I thought i read somewhere that sync should read the txt message or does this only work if the phone is wired to the usb? any thoughts??

Thanks

It's an issue with Apple not implementing the complete MAP profile and the SYNC software not properly supporting the parts Apple does implement. Apple can fix it by implementing the entire profile, or Ford by updating SYNC to be more modular.

Just gotta wait I guess. It works perfectly on my iPhone in other SYNC vehicles just not mine or my buddy's F-150, it also seems to be a widespread F150 issue just reading these forums.

I thought this would not work until I stumbled across the setting on the phone that allowed this.

Settings -> Bluetooth -> SYNC (Tap your sync connection)

Set "Show Notifications" to ON.

That is it, as long as you also enable it on your dash unit.

Mine works and it has from day 1. And that is what I did what is listed above. But I don't remember what I did to the MFT settings. But I get a txt push listen on the MFT Screen and it reads it to me.

I concur with ^

Mine has worked with my 5 from day one. Reads (or attempts to at least) texts.

I've tried this 100 times and I can't find show notifications in sync, I've got a 5 and I can't hear my text messages go off when connected to blue tooth. Maybe I'm missing something.

Same problem, iPhone 5, 2012 Lariat SYNC w/Nav (iOS & SYNC Updated to latest version.)

And it doesn't show "Show Notifications" , just shows contact info.

Not sure why it works for some and not others.
