Anywho, I have purchased two vehicles from Granger Ford in Granger just nw of Des Moines in the past year. I have worked with both Albert and John via internet contact. Great dealership! Yes, first post. No I do not work for them.

Purchased my new rcsb Stx from them. Hopefully the pick loads!

Although I didn't purchase from them, I enjoyed the few visits I have with Albert and John. And I see Albert's Ruby Red from time to time around town.

Default Not surprised

I also have never heard good things about buying a vehicle from there. When I was looking for mine I emailed them and they called me and sent me several emails but they had nothing I was even interested in.

I started working between Dewey Ford in Ankeny and after that salesman was a joke I went to Stivers and never looked back.

The day I was to pick up my new truck, Dewey called me and asked where I was with things. I said well I am going to pick up my new truck in a couple of hours from Stivers. He then somehow offered me near 6 grand more for my trade in? Too little too late.

Good luck. I would like to say look at Stivers though. I have had good luck with their service and body shop.

If you are in western iowa try heading to Blair, ne at woodhouse ford. My brother in law and I have bought 15-20 trucks from them. They are the largest dealer in world. I drove there from mpls and saved 3k between new price and trade in.

I can get a bit pissy when someone wastes my time. I might have said yea, iI'l take the blue one. I don't need a moonroof anyhow. Have them draw up the papers, haggle a bit, have coffee, haggle a bit more. Then after they waste some of THEIR TIME, you know whats coming.... I changed my mind, think I really do need a moonroof after all. See ya.

True and true again.

Your handle reminds me I got a good dual tank story. Driving home from work, just after 5 pm. Truck shudders and bounces, check fuel gauge, almost empty, switch to second tank. All smooth, finish driving home. See wife and baby daughter on doorstep in tears.... I was not low on gas at all. Oct 17, 1989 5:04 PM.

Based on my own bad experience, I'd say that's the way to go. Buying your car from the high-pressure dealer is usually a mistake.

The Ford dealers all share the same inventory in their region. So, go to the high-pressure guy for test-drives and tire-kicking. But buy the car from the "quality buying experience" guy. There might be a charge for moving the car from one dealer to another, but its not big and well worth it in my opinion.

Hi everyone,

I'm happy to log any feedback (positive or negative) about your experiences with Ford dealerships. Just send me a PM with your name, phone number, VIN, dealership, and any details you'd like me to include. I'll get this documented for the appropriate parties to review.

Where are you located? I'm a dealer in Grinnell (Steve Link Ford-Lincoln Inc.) and we are a family owned/operated business. We don't BS anyone, we can't afford to as we are in a small town and I run into customers everywhere I go, the last thing I want is anyone mad at me. Give me a call sometime if you're still looking for a truck and I will do whatever I can to help you get exactly what you are looking for.
