Default Internal LEDs de-activating remote start?

Guys,

I've swapped all my internal lights with LEDs. (Map /dome etc).

After doing this I discoverd my remote start doesnt work (Factory). Simply gives me the 3 short horn blasts.
Trying to run down potential issues I also discovered that if I leave the front map light sockets empty the remote start does the same.

Has had the same experience or found a work around for this? Other than returning back to the stock lighting. Which I will do if there is no other fix I just like the brighter LEDs.

Thanks

Lightbulb Door Open Shut off Trigger...

When you had the original lighting, did your truck turn off when you opened the door? My uncle (and others on here) said their factory remote start would shut down when they opened the door. Maybe the shutdown is/was triggered by the dome light. If this is the case, there is a thread that tells you how to disable the door open shut off issue... performing that mod, if it is indeed ultimately driven by the dome light, may solve your problem as well.

Curious to know myself, post back with feedback!

Thanks,
Jon

No. I did the reprogramming to prevent the door opening from shutting the vehicle down. However I havent tried returning that back to factory settings to see if it somehow corrects the problem.

Will try that tonight

Stereo shop i go to will not install leds in the interior because they have been known to mess things up internally like the navigation, map lights and the travel link, just saying! I have installed them and now my map lights dont work as well as the buttons on the visor for the garage door opener and home alarm.

It's actually quite simple. First. What type of alarm/starter is it? I'm assuming it's an alarm because all the alarms these days actually work by using the dome light. When you open your doors the dome light comes on thus triggering the alarm. If it's the same with just a starter too then that may be your problem. The LEDs may not be using enough power to arm/disarm the alarm/starter. Try replacing the dome first and see if your problem goes away. My guess is it should work. You may just have to use the normal bulbs. . Hope this helps.
