Intermittent Clunk/Jerk Problem
2011 F150 4X4 Ecoboost (54,000 miles/01.05.14)
Summary of Problem:
There is an occasional "jerk/clunk" (or 2) on slight acceleration when moving forward very slowly (coasting). Mostly in parking lot situations. Sometimes it’s an extreme jerk n loud! It feels and sounds like it’s occurring in the rear portion of the truck. It's consistent but may only occur once or twice every week or two! This has been occurring for the last year (approximately 30,000 miles). Most recently it has occurred in 4X4 mode also.
History of Service:
It has been to the dealer 3 different times for this problem without resolution. The first time (03/05/13) no problem was found. The second time (05/07/13) the service record indicated the “R n R the driveshaft assembly to lub the yoke spline”. The last time (09/06/13) they “reprogrammed the PCM/TCM per TSB 13-01-07”.
Updated (56,000 miles/03.10.14)
On 01/15/14 the dealer verified the jerk/clunk problem. After some time of analyzing the problem, they replaced the molded leadframe per TSB 13-06-08. This, I thought was the fix until on 03/10/14 the problem reoccurred! This was immediately after having the #4 ignition coil replaced.
