Default Interior swapping

Morning everyone, as some of my past posts have shown earlier this year I bought a 2011 king ranch that痴 been essentially sitting since I brought it home plagued with issues.

since iv stared at this truck broken down the last 4 months iv decided im done with it and have sourced out a nice 2013 FX4 that looks well kept and hoping that its in much better mechanical shape than my 2011 I should be bringing it home sometime this week.

my question is, I do love the seats and console lid in my king ranch and I知 wondering if I can swap those items over to the new fx4 when I get it home. Both trucks have heated and cooled seats in the front, king ranch has heated rear seats. I壇 love to also swap the leather dash pad from the king ranch aswell but I fear that will be to much of a project than I知 willing to get myself into. Has anyone done an interior swap similar to this? Anything I should look for or watch out for tempting this swap?

You should be fine. Why don't you keep this thread going when you get started, update with details and pics, and if you run into any specific issues, post them here and folks can help along the way. Woudl be an instructional thread for others as well.

on the surface it should work but who knows what harnesses connectors and stuff have changed from year to year. You may have to do some swapping around of connectors and such. The heated seat function in the rear is the main thing Im thinking there may be no harness connection for but stranger things have happened. Probably just need to do a little poking around and comparison of connectors

I agree with Mach above, there is a huge possibility that the harness plugs are different. Remember there are airbags in the seats as well.
However, all hope is not lost. If you find there is a difference in harnesses, the front sear covers are easily swapped. the cushions are the same. And the center console lid will swap without issue if they're both the flow through console. As for the rear, I am assuming both are crew cab? The KR should have a center, fold out armrest. I am not sure if all FX trucks had that or not. But as long as both are the same cab config and style, the whole seat can just be swapped over. Obviously if the KR has heated rear seats and the FX does not you'll lose that feature, although it's also possible the FX is prewired for that and the plug is just taped to the harness.

both trucks are crew cabs, KR does have the center fold down arm rest. I知 not too concerned with the rear heated seats since only my kiddo rides back there but I just like the leather of the KR seats. I知 suppose to go pick up the 13 FX next week so I値l look into more of that after I get them both side by side. I do know both trucks have heated and cooled front seats and both are leather so maybe I値l like the FX seats just as they are. ( truth be told I知 not sure how the KR tan seats would look with the rest of the interior being black on the FX) may just be something I play around with

The rear heat switches are in the doors, right? And then the control module should be in the seat back.

The wiring is the big issue. I believe it just gets power thru the BCM, no control. But, the FX probably doesn't have the body wiring to go from door to seat. Or from BCM to seat.
