Tundras are OK, but they are in need of a refresh that we all know won't happen for a few more years, knowing Toyota and letting their models stale out 3 years longer than they should. The iForce really is a good motor though. They're too much money compared to Ford rebates right now.

Great write up. About 2 yrs ago my lifestyle changed (got married) So was trying to down size my vehicles. Had a beautiful custom Silverado. Decided to try to stay under a certain dollar amount. Went with my first Dodge bighorn. At first I loved the truck, ran like a race horse comfortable. Developed a squeak in motor, after 5 visits to shop they finally fixed it after replacing parts. Then had some other problems with it in short amount of time. Found a nice 11 f150 5.0 and traded for it. Fell in love with the interior and look of the truck. Liked it so much I gave my lexus work car to my wife and traded for a new 12 f150 with EB. This is my new work car. People comment how nice it is inside all the time. So I've had all 3 manufactures in last 3 yrs and Liked something about all of them. But ford has come along way in the last few years and feels like they actually have people designing them actually using them.

Nice wright up buddy! The thing that pisses me off about Ford vs Dodge is they don't offer any nice service deals or extras with the purchase of a new truck!! I love my Ford though, and your thoughts on the EB as a daily driver were spot on. I owned one for a year and could never get used to it...plus problems. I have the 5.0 now and after 8 months, I haven't looked back. Though the EB is defiantly the fastest pickup engine on the planet IMO!

i used to be a service writer for dodge so i got to drive the 1500,2500,3500,4500,5500 all the time around the lot and on the highway. the trucks are ok. if my truck broke down and i needed something quick i would look at dodge if i couldnt get a ford because i know people where i can get a good deal. BUT i would have to spend the extra 4,000 bucks on the LIFETIME warranty to cover my butt on all the **** that goes wrong with them.

Nice read OP.
One thing about Dodge though, they are typically cheaper when you care equal truck to equal truck. That is worth something. And a 100k powertrain warranty also....
I had an '09 Sport Crew Ram hemi, 4wd. (Newest body style) It had some night features, and I don't care what you say, the hemi hauls *** when you want it to. The cab is huge, but you sacrifice a few more inches of box space. The mpgs weren't bad, and the stereo was much better than the POS Sony in my 2011 fx4.
That said, I traded my Ram after 8 months and 5,000 miles. The fit and finish was terrible, the seats weren't that comfortable, and I just didn't "like" it for some reason.
That moved me to an 09 gmc All-terrain Sierra crew. That was nice. But the power out of the 5.3 was awful. The interior was quiet and well put together. (Loved the 2 tone leather seats)
But I agree with everyone that GM needs a new truck bad. I'm pretty sure it's fall of '13 as a '14 model, but don't hold me to that.
I have been getting the itch to get a new truck again, but am going to wait until the new body styles from ford and GM are out before I dive into the test drives.

GM has a new full size truck coming. The last redesign was 2007, so it's not that old.... But it is bad compared to the competition: Ram was new in 09, f150 was new in '04, with refresh in 09, MINOR refresh in '13.
