ForScan is a free software and the OBD II adapters can be purchased for about $10 on amazon. It's up to you if it's worth the trouble.

Has to be a pc (or a windows tablet).. They do have a phone app (android and apple) but it's not free and you can't do the module programming. I think they also have a Mac version that works like the windows version.

No Mac version. Some may have run Windows on a Mac, but that is still Windows.

Sorry to dig this thread but would you please tell me where the change needs to be made using FORScan if I put a 4x2 instrument cluster in a 4x4 truck?

Thank you.

Have 2013 5.0 4x4. What's the best way to obtain the proper configuration for the "new upgrade" cluster? Found couple things after the "conversion" that needs some attention. I guess it's pretty easy to remove the "remote start menu" from the instrument cluster, however one of the things that's bugging me is - the icon that shows the rear differential lock doesn't light up on the cluster. 4x4 high, 4x4 low, 4x2 are coming on the display fine (which is a good indicator, that the donor vehicle was 4x4 too), but nothing for rear diff lock.
Or is it better to install the old basic cluster, read the configuration and copy it to the "upgraded" one? Or the spreadsheet for the "low" cluster will be totally different than the "upgraded"?

Easiest way is to look up the AsBuilt for a vehicle that has the cluster you put in and use that as a starting point. So look on eBay for a 13 5.0 4x4 with the cluster you upgraded to, grab the VIN and go to the Motorcraft AsBuilt site and use that VIN to get the AsBuilt. Plug that in for your cluster and then use the spreadsheet to add/remove things that are there that you don't have or are missing. Chances are just using the AsBuilt you get from the Motorcraft site will get you 95% of the way there.

Thanks a bunch! Never knew about AsBuilt website. Usually something like that is besides the subscriptions or whatever. Was pleasantly surprised to find it open sourse.
