why are you guys not using the resonator, wouldnt this just make it a straight pipe from the cat? No Muffler?

No. the resonator restricts flow, while at the same time quieting the exhaust. It is located right before the muffler.

Just increases flow, and possible better tone in the exhaust.

No offense but in don't think you quite understand the parts of the exhaust system. On the stock exhaust ford places a resonator in front of the muffler and is used to keep the stock system ultra quiet like it is. The SOLO exhaust comes with a muffler. Not sure why you are under the impression there is no muffler. It just does not use a resonator and a muffler.

My neighbor has a 4.6 explorer with exhaust and keeps telling me the truck sounds like a Honda. I politely tell him its a V6 in the end no matter what, but don't get mad when it rips the frame out from under your V8...

Hey hippie, did the exhaust have any effect on your tune? Maybe I'll get a chance to hear it in July when I come to Floyd. Keep us posted.

My Solo 4" is currently enroute. I hope it doesn't make my truck sound like a Honda
