Default Infinity Kappa upgrade question??

Hows it going guys, I just bought a 2013 Ford F150 Lariat SCREW and I got to change out the door speakers. From what I've read on the forum if I don't want to keep my stock head unit and no amp, the speaker of choice is the Infinity Kappa. My question is which one.. I see a couple different models. I want the best sound possible so should I go with the 682.11CF or the 682.9cf? Whats the difference in the two?

I got these and sound amazing(only did the front two). Only a few dollars more. 300 peak vs 180 peak,

Amazon.com: Infinity 6829CF 300W (Peak) 6 x 8 / 5 x 7 -Inch 2-Way Speakers (Pair): Car Electronics Amazon.com: Infinity 6829CF 300W (Peak) 6 x 8 / 5 x 7 -Inch 2-Way Speakers (Pair): Car Electronics

When installing.. If you get the one with the crossover dongle, ziptie it to the wiring harness in the bottom sill fo the door. It won't interfere with the window that way. Make sure to test everything before zipping everything back up.

PS> I would get the metra 7205600 adapter so I didn't have to cut my OEM wiring harness. $9

I read reviews on some of these adapters and some are wired backwards (+ and -). The positive on the factory connector is the wire that is on the same side as the clip. I just cut the connector off and soldered short wires that came with the new speakers sealing the connection with heat shrink. That way I didn't have a bunch of excessive wire to deal with.

You can test the speaker polarity with a AA battery. Take two wires (one for + side of the battery and one for the - side of the battery) and touch each one to the factory speaker prongs at the same time. If the speaker cone jumps out toward the front of the speaker then the wire on the + side of the battery is connected the + side of the speaker. If it jumps in toward the speaker magnet then the - battery wire is connected to the + speaker connection.

I also went with the 6829CF's. I did all four speakers this way and the upgrade was noticeable and worth it IMO.

I love my Kappas - I went with the same model as above. I did have a problem about a month after installation though. One of the rear speakers suddenly caught fire. Lucky, I was in traffic and pulled into a construction zone, ran around to the door and blew on it hard enough to blow out the flames. I pulled all wires going to the speakers and swapped them out but it was a truly weird situation.

I have had the same speakers in component form with the massive tweeters, had them for 2 years now running 90 rms watts each and love them!
