It seems like most of the people on this forum are pretty forgiving. The company I work for isn't so forgiving. If we make a mistake we get written up, the next time we get 3 days off unpaid and the next time we get fired. Whenever I read threads like this I think.. it must be nice to be able to screw up and have no repercussions.

Let's be honest. The wrong part was ordered. Or simply the part was ordered correctly, and the wrong one came. Hardly something to get written up on, or fired for.

No one forgot to put lugnuts back on, no one left a wrench in the engine, and it blew up. No one crashed someone's vehicle and tried to hide it. (Work in an auto shop long enough, and you will bump a car or truck into something eventually.)All of these I've physically seen people get fired for, 1 strike... Fired. No write up, no 3 day leave, doesn't matter if you were there 10 days or 10 years, you got fired.

I worked for a dealer that, if you did something silly like, you walked by a vehicle and the button on your pants scuffed it. Something that could easily be buffed out. And a manager saw you, you would be sent for a drug test. You Fail? Fired on the spot. I have many similar stories about that dealer.

The problem is you were important when you bought the truck and until the first oil change, now you want freebie warranty TSB's and the dealer could care less about that business, especially if sales are high enough at that dealer, I've seen it before with myself and friends new vehicles.

The minute we sign the finance papers, they (Ford and dealer) no longer need any of us!

I wasn't implying that they should get in trouble for making a mistake. I was just stating how they treat us on the production line, meanwhile management makes mistakes all of the time but punishes us when we do. I don't like the system or agree with it, I just have to deal with it for another 15 years.

Default Inept or careless? Dealer Fail.

A similar thing happened to me as well. I dropped mine off to have the rear window replaced.
An hour after I left, he called to say someone used it for another truck.
It's their first screw up in 11 years.
The 10 "I'm really sorry about that" apologies, were enough for me.
12 mile round trip...for me. Not even a gallon of gas.
A perfect, before and after test ride.
