Default Increase in gas mileage 3.7

At 5,500 miles, I have noticed a 2mpg increase in mileage of my 3.7 Screw over the last 2 tank fulls. Not sure what the cause is as I have not changed my driving habits and I can't trace it to any particular station as I have filled up at two differant places the past two times.

I've been averaging 16-16.5 since new but ended up at 17.9 on the last tank and am at 18.5 on this one with about 50 miles to go. Very pleased

That's what mine did also. Kinda like someone hit a switch, and the mileage increased. The engine is a tough one.

Default I now have over.......`

21,000 miles on my 2011 Screw w/ 3.7 and a 3.73 rear...... have averaged about 19.4 around local driving in semi-rural florida..... and still get just about the same to perhaps 20 out on the Interstates at about 72 MPH. Seems like if I baby it a bit I can coax 22-24 out of it if I keep the RPM's at about 1500-1600 and do about 60-62 MPH...... but it sure drops when I hit hills and/or punch the revs up a bit to the 2,000 or more mark...... still not bad for this truck but I was aable to obtain a steady 20 MPG in my old '98 XLT with the 4.6 engine....... with 100,000 on the clock.
