IMRC Motor Replacement
Hello, everyone - I've trolled for a while and have gotten some great information but this is the first time I've asked a question.
2009 F150 XLT 4.6L 3V with 132K miles. I had it at the dealer a few days ago for an oil change in preparation for a day-after-Christmas trip. I've been meaning to get some service done but I can't afford to get the whole 125K-mile service done by the dealer at once so I thought I'd get something done at each oil change. This time I chose the fuel injector cleaning service.
I picked up the truck and put about 35 miles on it over the next day. On Christmas eve I took it for a drive and thought I'd check how the injector cleaning did, so I started to run it up a little. I didn't even floor it; I just ran it up a little harder than I normally do. It ran well for about 3 seconds then started sputtering. I barely made it to the parking lot of a local business before it stalled. After that it would not idle, and it behaved similarly to the time I accidently knocked the brake boost vacuum line off.
Long story short, I had it towed to the dealer that did the service and his conclusion was that it was a bad IMRC motor and that it would be about $1100 to fix it. I was heading out of town on the day after Christmas and was in a jam to get it fixed.
Three questions:
1. Is it possible that the failure was caused by the injector service?
2. Are they screwing me with the service estimate?
3. Does anyone have the part number for this part? I've googled and came up dry.
I usually don't like going to dealerships and I actually have a guy that I DO trust, but the dealership was a lot closer and they're convenient for simple service. I might be paying the price for not wanting to make the long drive.

Thanks, Kenferg - apparently it wound up being a dirty MAF sensor so there was no need to replace the IMRC motor. It does annoy me because just when I arrive at the mindset that I can't work on some of these systems the dealer proves that they're guessing as well. I'm off to find some service manuals.
