I'll never Cheat on my Goodyear Duratracs again!!
I asked around, and searched the web and saw enough people say they liked their Trail Grapplers so that today I had dealer install my new Badlands and 295/60R20 Trail Grapplers and I was SICK Sooooo LOUD and Rough and could feel the cleats thru the steering wheel. I expected them to be 10-15% louder and rougher because comparing an Aggressive AT to a MT. Luckily Dealer is putting Duratracs back on Badlands for me in the morning First Thing!! Expensive Mistake! But I guess Sexy takes away Road Comfort but Too Much For ME!!!

I will point out that Trail grapplers are 12.1 wide and Duratracs are 11 inches and taper down to a 9 inch tread width. Trail Grapplers don't give tread width but it's between 11-12 inches I'm sure! So the extra wide footprint is 90% of the issue but Duratracs rode as good as the Factory tires and can't wait to get them back on

I've driven and ridden in a few trucks with them and I agree. Very loud and rough. Don't know how so many people can handle them day in and day out. I have Toyo AT/II's and they are loud enough for me. No point in going to an M/T unless you need them. Modern A/T's handle snow, gravel and pavement better than any M/T will while being almost as good in the mud.
I thought you were crazy when you said you were going from a Duratrac to a Trail Grappler!

I run Trail Grapplers on my F150 and Duratracs on my Bronco and I find them to be quite equal. However my Duratracs are wider than my Trails.

True. I went from the quietest highway tire in the world (Michelin MS2) to a very aggressive, damn-near M/T looking Toyo all terrain. The ride is certainly firmer, they are certainly louder on the road. But damn, do they look good!

Duratracs on my H3 got 70,000 miles I rotated every 4500 with oil change never had to rebalance them. We dropped Trail Grapplers from 50lbs to 36 definitely helped a HEAP still loud but not near as harsh a ride. But nothing beats Duratracs for comfort and a very small hum but 1/3 as much as Grapplers
