I bet Ford tested the Ecoboost in the Raptor and found that it did not get any better gas mileage than the 6.2L in that truck and decided not to product it. I have noticed that the Ecoboost engine Milage is VERY sensitive to weight....
If you add the extra weight, height and tire size of the Raptor to a std F150 4x4 it get about the same mileage. So, what would be the point of the 3.5L Ecoboost in the Raptor????

I Like Tires
They don't have it in the Raptor now because it's not set up to operate with Hydraulic Power Assisted Steering. Every engine but the 6.2 has EPAS and Ford decided the EPAS wasn't strong enough to handle the off-road application that the Raptor was built for. So I honestly doubt that the Raptor will get a different engine for some time.

I read in a magazine article about a year ago or so, that they were working on a diesel F150, but haven't heard anything about it since then. Maybe they scrapped it?

I remember seeing something about the EB in the Baja version of the Raptor. Perhaps it never happened though.
This is all I could find.
