The Ecoboost has more torque, especially low end torque. Stock for stock that doesn't necessarily mean it's faster as it really isn't much faster at all. My butt dyno says they feel pretty similar. Torque is what hauls that trailer up that hill quietly, and clearly the Ecoboost will handle that much better. That said, I've never driven a turbocharged vehicle that had as much lag as my Eco did, and I drive turbocharged vehicles on a daily basis. Those big turbos take awhile to spool up and when they do, they bite your face off and send the axle skipping out from underneath the truck. It was unnerving and was a deal breaker for me second time around.

When I bought my first 5.0 as opposed to the EB, I thought to myself.......
1)VROOOOOOOOM!!!!!!! vs vroooom shhhhhhh
2) there are more things that could go wrong with a turbo motor than a N/A motor
3) The 5.0 seemed more familiar, thus, hopefully easier to work with.

All seriousness... I love my 5.0 just as much as others do. It does what I want & this is how I wanted it... For the Eco owners, I will say that it is a very impressive motor & the torque I felt when my friend showed me. I was impressed!
But me personally.... I love a V8! The sound & rumble is nostalgic and They've been around for a LONG time and has a proven itself for many decades.
We ALL like our trucks & the true answer is this: 'Merica!!!!
We ALL buy what we like & want. Enjoy the F-150 trucks, no matter what motor is in it! These trucks are still best & the #1 selling truck!!
