I like the idea of this, would work great for my business. However I'm not a fan of the new Chevy bodies though (No thanks) Also, I find it odd that they left that 4.3 lump under the hood to be used as a generator. They could have sourced any of GM's tiny 4-cylinder motors, or even the tiny diesel that now comes in the Cruze, to be used for maximum weight savings & efficiency.

Not for me either. I did a little math on the fuel savings.

15,000 miles per year at 30 mpg versus 23 mpg @ $4.00 gal.(I live in Calif)

If my numbers are correct it would take only 65 years to recoup the additional $40000 it costs to have Via update the Silverado to a hybrid. But you could drive it in the commuter lane. Priceless
