I wonder how much money VIA makes from that $80k.

Chevy Volt,,,How's that working out. Can you say multiple recalls. If GM didn't get a Federal bailout there co. would be closed. Easy for Chevy to gamble with taxpayer dollars, when they run dry they'll be standing at WH with there hand out again..

Cycle For Fun and Health
These "green" vehicles are a niche item that are purchased by special people that need to tell everyone they are doing their part to clean up the air and the atmosphere.
Will be many years before these items live up to their intended purpose and become really useful and productive.
I doubt seriously that this new GM item will cut into the Ford market by any significant percentage.
Beside the high cost of this truck, it still has the square fenders that render it Fugly in my opinion.
I will continue on with the Ford products for the forseeable future.

Half ton trucks only have between 1,200 & 1,800 lbs of payload as it is. You throw in half a ton of batteries, and what are you left with?
Chevy already tried the hybrid truck years ago. They didn't fair too well at the beach, near salt water, or in offroad situations.
As for Tesla, five of their cars had the battery packs catch fire this year. And they have a range of 80 miles. That's a commuter car at best. You won't be using this truck for work.

Not brand loyal by a long shot but I won't touch GM products ever again. The price and additional maintenance this drive train will create makes this a no brainier stay the hell away and any other manufacture of trucks would be a wiser choice over this.
