I have 3 friends with the 5.0 I myself have the ecoboost, I'm not trashing anything here just saying the 5.0 has the odd lemon like any make model or motor choice.... were all fords I'd still wave back to you... even though you have the 5.0's

I think this has made my mind up. My sons going to have his license soon, so I'm thinking he's inheriting the 5.4 and I'm hopping into a 5.0.
I'm absolutely satisfied with the 5.4- it's been a reliable work horse, but once he's driving in a couple years, I want a new one and he can have the 5.4, and since the 5.0 is the only V8 choice (in my price range) I'm in! At least if he's in the 5.4 s'crew- I know he's in a good truck.
I've read piles of threads on the new offerings, and when it comes to the EB, the reviews are either a really positive "WOW" or just as often, some veiled buyers remorse. The reviews on the 5.0 all point towards an awesome plant.
