Default How to remove tray on dash

I want to install a GPS on the dash of my 09 FX4. I thought the best way to get power would be to drill a hole in the tray on the top of the dash and connect to the dash wiring somewhere. Does anyone know if it is possible to pop out the tray from the top or if I need to take apart the whole dash to get it out? I pulled on it and it didn't seem to give easily. Maybe I didn't try hard enough, but I'd hate to break something.

There is a thin rubber liner in the tray, remove it. That will expose to screws. Remove the screws and you are good to go.

Eh... Unless your puttin in like a touch screen or DVD player, you might not want to hard wire your GPS. It'd make it difficult to use in other vehicles.
