How Many Miles after you reach E?

I don't use the fuel gage to figure out how much gas I have left.
It works better if you just look at the gage that tells you how many gallons you have used.
I reset it everytime I fill up.

why play russian roulette with your fuel pump. Run it dry and it looses lubration. Is a $300 bill to change out the pump worth stopping for fuel? I've seen a number of friends play this game and shell big buck out of pocket to replace a burned out fuel pump. Just stop and throw in $5 or $10 bucks in fuel.

Good to know just in case. I drive the east coast now and then and if it happens to be late at night, it can be a while between open gas stations. I doubt with the fuel monitoring in this truck I would ever run low but if I happen to push it, I'll have a little comfort.
I've never ran out of fuel.....

On a side note, Major gas stations (Shell, Chevron, Texaco, BP) leave their pumps on more often after closing than say your small Mom & Pop gas station.

Found out with mine the other day, that if my low fuel warning comes on, not to back into my driveway for the night..
Was cold & in a hurry to get home after work, & didn't want to stop for gas, figured I'd do it in the morning. Low fuel message came on just as I got home. Backed my truck into the driveway like usual. (nose down abit)
Next morning, i remote started it, & went out a couple min later to find it not running.
Then, it wouldn't start.
Gauge said it still had 33 miles to empty though..
Ended up letting it roll down into the street, & was able to start it then.
So I figure the fuel sending unit must be toward the back of the tank.

This would vary from one vehicle to the next even if they were the same model. All gas tanks do not hold the same amount of fuel and all of the inaccurate float gages measure differently.

Is there any TSB for this "low fuel warning" issue? Is it mostly Ecoboost related or across all the platforms? Does the cab style or bed length make any difference?

In my Raptor, I could accidentally go another 40-60 miles past zero, where 40 was in town and 60 on hwy to make it to the next place. I used to run a 5 gallon jerry can mounted to the back, so it didn't bother me much to get out and re-fuel on the side of the road on occasion (twice). I don't think my stx has nearly that much extra b/c I added 25.5 gallons the other day and I was only like 20 miles past empty and it's a 26 gallon tank. :-O

Not trying to insult anyone here, but I've never understood why folks do this. You know when you're going to need gas well before you actually get to E, so why not just stop?
Again, not insulting anyone, but what is the point of delaying it? (To me it makes about as much sense as people that buy $20 in gas every day instead of just filling the damn thing up)
