How many here bought a F150 instead of a luxury vehicle?
Just curious how many cross-shopped luxury vehicles or got out of one to buy a F150? I suspect a good number of the higher trim level owners probably did.
I had a Range Rover but just couldn't get over the rear seat space, the luxury and quiet ride of the platinum compared with European sedans/SUVs, along with the much higher utility of a truck. I also prefer the lower profile that driving the most common vehicle on the road affords.

I suppose I could be considered in this group of consumers.
I too ended up with the Platinum. Would I love the ride of a Acura MDX, or Lexus GX470? Sure, but they're too soft for my liking. Would either do 90% of what I need (carry mtn bikes, haul family/dogs) sure, but I love having a truck. Best of both worlds in my book. Refined comfort for 5 adults, and the ability to throw whatever I want (with some weight limits...thanks loaded Platinum) and go about what I need.

I had a 2005 Scab 5.4 2wd xlt, and my fiance at the time had a 2 door alero. With some of the changes coming up in our lives, we decided instead of buying a luxury cross-over or car, that buying a Lariat Supercrew would serve two purposes. It, in my opinion, is definitely a luxury vehicle, but not so much that I can't use it as a truck.

I passed up a 2008 Corvette for my 2010 F150 Lariat....
Both were sitting on the lot next to each other, both with $32,000, both are vehicles that I've wanted to own since I got my license. But between tailgating, camping, a dog, and winter, I went with the F150 and I will go with the F150 again if I had to.

Got out of a Mercedes GL450 4Matic with Tow Package. Needed more backseat room than the Benz had. Surprisingly, it towed like a champ, but it drank the hell out of the premium fuel when I did! With pretty much every damn option package I could put it in the truck, I don't feel like I'm losing anything. In fact, I gained better navigation AND cooled seats! Also, being 6'2" I gained much more leg/head room than I had. Wouldn't go back unless it was to a G wagon......but with those currently in the 6 figures, I think Ford has my business for a while!
