I replaced mine with a sundown sa-8. The tinsel leads on the sundown sub broke, so while I was waiting on a recone, I placed the Sony sub in the enclosure for the sundown. Wow! I had no idea that factory sub could produce that amount of sound. The enclosure is 1.1cubic feet internal volume with a 3 x 15-1/2" port tuned to 32 hertz. Have no idea how it'd work on that factory amp though. I gained my sundown 1500d waaaaay down for it and it was still too much.

Did this mod over the weekend and all I can say is WOW!! It seems like stuffing the sub box really "wakes up" the whole system!! I am hearing many different bass tones in a given song that were completely missing before...sounds awesome. Some have said it doesn't make a big difference, but it has for me!! Very happy and Thanks to the OP!!

How much stuffing are you putting in the box?

I don't know. No one wants to read 23 pages to find out.

All I found in the first post is that the OP bought a bag of polyfill. You can buy different size bags and it doesn't say that he used the entire bag. I'm not lazy, I'm just preoccupied with work, school, and my kids. Can you be any less helpful?

Roughly 1/4th to 1/3rd of the bag. Start with 1/4th - seems to be about right.
