I mainly installed the lights for my reverse camera setup. Before having these, I couldn't see anything behind me with the factory reverse lights. Where the LED's are in the bumper, they provide a great reference on my screen where my bumper is, as well as illuminating everything behind me.

I'll try and get a picture of what they look like in the dark, as well as what my screen looks like with the reverse camera image on it.

Here's what the LED's look like installed. At some point, I'm going to modify the rubber housing / grommets so the lights are more flush with the bevel instead of protruding about 3/8". Thanks again to the OP for the idea!
Do you have any pictures of the lights at night?

looks very good but looks like alot of work. Why didnt you just tap into the reverse lights original wiring and then just put an inline fuse to prtect your lights and your truck. That is what i am planning to do.

Nicely done.

Another alternative, one that I'm looking at:

Most people dont tap into the reverse lights cause if you have a switch you can turn them on whenever you want. It works good hen your trucks in park and you nee to unload a trailer

I am going to wire mine to come on when in reverse or I will be able to hit a switch and turn them on any time. That's best of both worlds! Lol

I tried that... and besides the obvious downside of cutting into your factory wiring harness you only get about 10 amps and the factory backup lights are already using most of that.

If you have a common 7-way rv plug on your truck you could pickup an adapter called EZAUX that sells on eBay.

I made ONE connection between the EZAUX adapter red wire and my lights and I was done - the hard part was mounting the lights themselves.

I just picked up a set of inexpensive 'driving lights' at Wal-Mart and then removed two of the underside carriage bolts that hold my bumper on and stuck the lights in those holes... everything is nice and evenly spaced and the lights are already grounded to the frame so I didn't even need the EZAUX ground wire!
Checkout www.ezaux.com for more info.

Hope it helps... I like mine
