Default How hot does your exhaust tip get?

I was washing the truck and noticed the exhaust tip seemed pretty hot. I was driving it for 45 mins. before, but it would have been 120-150F I'd guess. I've been with cars for a while but never remember my 02 tip getting that hot.

Anyone else notice this?

I'd bring it back to the dealer and have them test it out. . . .

Are you really asking if the exhaust tip should get hot? I have never felt of mine right after driving the truck but I would bet a large sum of money that it gets pretty hot.

LOL, I do a lot of work on cars and this tip gets much hotter than anything I've driven or worked on. I've had one of my mustangs in two magazine spreads and used in advertising too. <My chance to add some credibility back> -- Yeah its too late!

No it's not too late... if these jokers had actually read the phrasing of your question properly they wouldn't be taking the **** out of you anyway.

Did the OP seem like he was a 17yr-old kid asking if an exhaust should get hot? No, correct - he said he had been around cars for a while and you did check his sig and garage before posting your sarcastic replies, right? He was in fact asking if anyone had noticed their new trucks exhaust tip getting EXCEPTIONALLY HOT, MAYBE EVEN HOTTER THAN ANYTHING THEY HAD EVER OWNED BEFORE.

Personally, I don't know if the one on my truck does, but I haven't looked specifically. I will now
