Default How to get fuel additive into sealed tank?

'09 recently turned 100k. Would like to add some Lucas upper cylinder lubricant but only thing that opens the sealed fuel reservoir is the pump nozzle at gas station with no wiggle room to hold it open so I can get said treatment in. Any suggestions from y'all's experiences is greatly appreciated.

You should have the funel with your jack behind the seat if it's a regular cab. That's what it is for. There's another thread with the part number on Ebay if your's is missing.

Use the plastic fuel filler nozzle that comes with the truck. The manual talks about it. In a supercrew, it's stored in the cubby underneath the driver's side rear passenger seat. Dunno about where it is in other trim levels

If you can't find the funnel that came with your truck, they sell these at Walmart. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Flotool-Ca...unnel/35735659

Wow great help in minutes. Yeah the manual says it should be under rear passenger seat near the spare tire toolbox. I see neither lol. Bought the truck used so I reckon they're gone with the wind and I'll be going to Walmart. Kinda funny how that funnel works but any other one doesn't but oh well. Thanks a bunch guys I appreciate it.

I just picked one up at Wal-Mart last week too. Mine wasn't in the tray under the seat. Was pretty cheap too.

Or I just grab a straw from the gas station, poke it in enough to to open the flapper and pour it in.

So they don't clean out your fuel injectors?

Techron fuel additives (or others with PEA, polyether amine) are known to clean deposits from intake valves and cylinders. Unfortunately, Lucas UCL doesn't have any of it.

Only a funnel with exactly the same dimension as a fuel pump nozzle will move the locking tabs to the side and open the filler:

Filler Thread.
