Default How does the block heater function on the 2014?

Hi all,

2014 F150 FX4 SCREW

Question about the block heater, how is it designed? Will it always come on or does it only work if the ambient temperature is below a certain threshold?

The reason I ask is because my previous truck, a 2007 GMC had a sensor where the block heater would only work if it was like -30c. Guys where removing the sensors to bypass it even.

Thanks

Why on earth would they put a sensor on a block heater? It's not like you can automatically plug it in. Or accidentally.
