Default How to B&E into a F150 easy

I know the title of this thread is inappropriate, but knew it would catch your attention.

This might have been covered here before, but a search came up negative. Im a LEO. This past weekend we had 3 F150's broke into and items stolen. They (thieves) gained access by using a punch or scewdriver and pushed in the push buttom lock numbers under the drivers side doorhandle. 1 or 2 pushes is all it takes as the number pad is one piece. Once its pushed in, there is a metal rod going up and down. This is your lock. They used the same screwdriver and just pushed the rod to its side. Bingo. Door opens and no alarm.

Since we are all F150 owners here... please use caution as I am now concerned about B&E to mine. One of the three had an aftermarket alarm system. You could see where they reached into the front grill and "pulled" the speaker wire off of the speaker/alarm so it wouldnt go of.

This whole process takes no more than 5 seconds. Please be carefull.

Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully that never happens to this truck.

My friends 09 was broken into one night..They started by snapping a piece out of the grille big enough to unplug the horns..Then punched in the keyhole itself, busted in and stripped the interior. Took the radio, seats, everything of value. Scumbags.

Something like this was posted up a while back and I decided to bookmark the web site. A cheap theft deterrent for our trucks. Haven't yet bought it but it seems decent enough.

This exact thing happened to me on my work f150 8 or 9 months ago. I was in the DFW area of Texas as the time. Really annoyed me not to mention the stuff they got after they broke in.

Edit: that truck was a 2010. I just got a 2012 personal f150 and I am gonna look into this tuff deal. Wonder if there is enough info to DIY it..?

I was hoping improvements had been made... Sounds not..

Had my 2002 F-350 stolen from my parking lot at work with a screwdriver when I lived in Fort McMurray...

If you put a guard behind there to "protect" it they will more then likely just break the window or cause more damage then they already have.

If they want in they will get in.
