Default Homelink install w/ out factory wiring

So after reading on here that it was possible to install homelink in my new ford, I quickly got on ebay and bought a homelink module from a '09 Flex (stone int.) to install in my visor. Nonetheless my visor doesn't have the lighted mirror, no sweat right! Could not find any possible way to get wiring up through visor rod, made entirely different than the lighted ones. This was something I wanted as my garage door opener now you have to pretty much be in the driveway for the door to open, my wife's homelink you can be a block away and it opens! This is where Tasca comes in, I ordered drivers/pass visors (wanted them both to have lighted mirrors), homelink (actually Car2U) already installed. I spent more than I had hoped but now the finished product is well worth it.

Wiring was pretty simple, spliced in power from the dome lights!

Default Homelink

What is the part number for the passenger side vanity mirror? Tasca Parts seems to have NO REFERENCE whatsoever for an 'Illuminated Vanity Mirror - Passenger Side"; my order instead came to me with no light (and no mirror closure "plain open").

My invoice from Tasca reads part #:

AL3Z*1504105*FA for drivers side

9L3Z*1504104*CA for passenger side

On their website it didn't list any for 2010, so I ordered for a 2009. Hope this helps!

Default Homelink Mod

I would like to express my sincere gratitude and thanks to everyone who posted instructions on how to install a homelink visor mod. I followed everyone's advice and bought the homelink module on eBay for $29.99. I then followed the step by step instructions via members previous post and 25 minutes later....the mod was completed and all 3 garage doors were going up and down with ease. I saved $659.00 because I was about to order one of those homelink mirrors with the backup-camera. I was seriously dreading that purchase!

Again....THANK YOU GUYS for posting instructions in how to make this mod. OH! almost forgot......LOL.......I have a 2008 Harley Davidson F-150!

I've been wanting to do that, but don't want to try installing the module in my existing visors. I didn't even think about Tasca. Thanks for the post, I'm going to check them out today.
