your install looks great, I am interested in doing this...its crazy though, the prices vary widely from ~$20 up to 200+ for some auctions on ebay...wow.

Also, do you have the mirror behind your visor? If not, were the power wires still behind once you removed your visor? I don't have it, and don't really feel like running a bunch of wire, but if its easily accessible, then i will most certainly do this mod, very easy and cheap it seem.

That looks great.

I can usually figure out how to do most anything, but for some reason I am scared to death to do anything to my truck. If it's not too much trouble can you write up a quick "step by step for dummies"?

Thanks.

Thanks, I had the mirror with lights so the power was there. just unscrew yours off the roof and see if there is wires running to the visor, but I don't think there will be if there isn't a light. it wouldnt be hard to run a couple wires to a map light for power though if you needed to.

The seller I got mine from said she had more but I didn't see them up for auction, I'll see if I still have the email that had her email address.

I just used the how-to posted from the escape forum that was posted in the begining of the thread.

It' 99% the same. It's was just a little tougher to cut the spot out of the plastic because the little clip thing on our visors holds the bottom of the material so you can't pull the cover back as far.

Question

Anybody with a '10 XLT added homelink and did not have the lighted mirror?
Looking for some insight/help before trying this addition on my own

I thought that I had the lighted mirrors, and I don't either it's a good thing I double checked before ordering the homelink transmitter, lol

I'll have to takel that another time... once I feel the urge to run a power feed wire... could probably just tap right into the overhead lights to pull power from there no problem

for now I guess though, the gargage door opener is staying clipped on the visor... I don't know why they couldn't just do it like our 03; only one sunglass holder on the roof; the other din is a spot that actually can hold a garage door opener!
