home made 5.0 catch can
Well after browsing through all the write-ups about the vsrious catch can systems, I decided to go with the proven system I have been using for a couple years now on the big hp cars that come through the shop. Took some of the recommendations of keeping the can away from heat and put it in front of the radiator. I mounted it low so it stays kinda hidden. It has some baffling and such inside that I have designed and has proven very effective at removing the oil and only letting clean air pass through to the intake. Rounded up some scrap piece from the shop, a few fitting I had laying around, fired up the tig welded and this is what I ended up with.
All tucked away and somewhat hidden with easy access to the drain.
Lines are all tidied up and connected.
Used some VHT wrinkle finish high temp paint.
Just a pic of the welded bung. Im still practicing with aluminum, but getting better.
Just thought I would share my setup. All in all I have about $20 out of pocket in it if you dont count the various pieces I had laying around.
